The 1987 Pulitzer prize winning play for Best Drama and a 1987 Tony Award winner for Best Play, Fences, by August Wilson. Set in the 1950s, Fences explores the evolving African-American experience, race relations, and other themes. Directed by Jeremy Rashad Brown.

Our Lady of the Tortilla

Miracles, tortillas, and the Virgin Mary set the stage for Luis Santeiro’s comedy, Our Lady of the Tortilla. Directed by Felipe Garcia, Our Lady of the Tortilla tells the story of an inter-generational, Cuban family in the U.S. struggling with tradition, culture, language, love, and… each other!

Fiddler on the Roof

Winner of nine Tony Awards when it debuted in 1964, Fiddler on the Roof has become a a staple of the musical theater canon, touching audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth, and honesty. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, its universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, sadness, and joy. Directed by Rick Roemer.

 Proof

From the mind of David Auburn, Proof, was inspired by the real-life story of John Nash (A Beautiful Mind). It won the 2001 Pulitzer prize for Drama and the 2001 Tony Award for Best Play. Directed by our very own, Jessie Drollette, Proof explores concepts related to mental health conditions, genius, trust, faith, and family dysfunction.

Beautiful is the inspiring tale about a girl who became King with a stirring book by the late Oscar and Tony-nominated Douglas McGrath and the music and lyrics of icons Carole King, Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. Directed by Stephanie Smith.

In the Heights

In the Heights is a musical with concept, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes. The story is set over the course of three days, involving characters in the largely Dominican American neighborhood of Washington Heights in Upper Manhattan. To honor the authors’ vision and to clearly and appropriately tell the story, the roles will be cast according to the character definitions as written in the script. Directed by Felipe Garcia, choreography by Gene Tapia, and music direction by Xavier Jaramillo.

 Dashing Through the Snow

Another comedy from Jones Hope Wooten, Dashing Through the Snow, kicks off the holiday season in the Playhouse. It’s four days before Christmas in the tiny town of Tinsel, Texas, and a colorful parade of eccentric guests arrive at the Snowflake Inn and deck the halls with holiday hilarity. Directed by Molly Fonseca.

Our productions take place on the Springer Stage and the Palace Playhouse. The Springer Stage is the mainstage within the Palace Theatre. The Playhouse Stage, is an intimate black-box theatre, located around the corner from the Palace Theatre, off 8th and Tin Barn Alley. Our concerts are held at the Doug Smith Performance Center, also home to our Palace Education Program Performances.

In general for Palace performances (not Education shows), our evening performances begin at 7:30 pm and our matinee performances are at 2pm. Always feel free to double-check your location and time on with our box office.

Refund Policy: Refunds will be made in full in case of a cancelled performance. No other refunds will be made. Booking, platform, and administration fees are included in the ticket price.

Ticket Exchange Policy: For a fee of $5, date exchanges for the same production may be made online from the link in your confirmation email up to 24 hours prior to show time or by phone during business hours ONLY Mon-Fri, 10 am to 4 pm. After that time no exchanges or rain checks can be made.

Mobility Impaired Seating: If you need wheelchair, walker or ADA seating, please contact the box office Mon-Fri, 10 am-4 pm at 512-869-7469.
