The Georgetown Palace announces auditions for our Springer Stage Holiday production of Holiday Inn. The production is scheduled to open Friday, November 18, 2022 and close on Friday, December 30, 2022. Being a Christmas Production we will have weekday performances on December 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 at 7:30p.
About the Show!
Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn tells the story of Jim, who leaves the bright lights of show business behind to settle down on his farmhouse in Connecticut… but life just isn’t the same without a bit of song and dance. Jim’s luck takes a spectacular turn when he meets Linda, a spirited schoolteacher with talent to spare. Together they turn the farmhouse into a fabulous inn with dazzling performances to celebrate each holiday, from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July. But when Jim’s best friend Ted tries to lure Linda to Hollywood to be his new dance partner, will Jim be able to salvage his latest chance at love?
Based on the classic film, this joyous musical features thrilling dance numbers, laugh-out-loud comedy and a parade of hit Irving Berlin songs, including “Blue Skies,” “Easter Parade,” “Steppin’ Out With My Baby,” “Heat Wave,” “White Christmas,” “Be Careful, It’s My Heart,” “Cheek to Cheek,” “Shaking the Blues Away” and many more!
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for talented and diverse performers who will have a lot of fun bringing this holiday musical to life. We are seeking talented performers of all ethnicities for all roles in this production, ages 10 and up.

Auditions will begin on the Springer Stage on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 6:00p-10:00p with a singing audition.
Auditions will consist of singing one or two selected vocal sides from the show. Tracks will be used for all initial auditions. Please choose a side for the role you’d like to be considered for to perform for the production team during your audition.

Holiday Inn will begin rehearsals on or around Thursday, September 22, 2022. Scripts and Scores will be available for pick up before the first rehearsal to those who are offered roles in our production.
Rehearsals are typically held Monday through Thursday from 7:00-10:00 pm and Saturdays or Sundays* from 1:00-5:00 pm.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm. Being a Christmas Production we will have weekday performances on December 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 at 7:30p.
Sometimes ticket demand causes us to add Saturday Matinee performances at 2 pm.
*Sunday rehearsals will only be put onto the schedule if Saturdays become unavailable due to too many cast conflicts. Please put Saturday and Sunday conflicts on your form.
Please make sure to notate all conflicts that you are aware of on your conflict sheet when filling out your audition form. It is difficult to create a rehearsal schedule if we do not know all of your conflicts up front. Adding all of your conflicts after casting could result in removal of the production.
Casting will be done in the following days by the Holiday Inn production team and send their cast list to be approved by the Executive Artistic Director. Once approved, emails will be sent to the actors that will be offered a role in the production. Once a full cast has accepted, an email to all remaining actors who auditioned will then be sent.
