Frequently Asked Questions - Covid Update
1. How does the new Stage 5 restrictions affect the Palace? Are you reducing capacity to 50%?
Per the Governor’s orders, theatres must maintain an empty row in between rows and 2 seat separation between groups. Given these requirements, the Palace has been operating at a 33% capacity since we reopened.
2. Why aren’t you having musicals?
We are not offering musicals at this time as we can only operate at about 1/3 of our capacity and we won’t make the revenue needed to pay licensing fees for musicals. They are very expensive. Musicals also tend to have bigger casts and we are currently producing shows that have smaller casts. But we are hoping that by this Fall (and possibly the summer!), we will have less restrictions and will be able to resume musicals.
3. Why did you cancel recent events?
We are doing our best to stay open and offer musical and theatrical events for people to enjoy in a safe environment. But if ticket sales aren’t what they need to be in order to justify spending cleaning costs, musician costs and more, then we have had to cancel events.
4. Can I take my mask off once I am in the theatre?
Masks must remain on at all times, per the Governor’s orders. This will be strictly enforced.
5. Why can’t I buy concessions?
At this time, with Covid numbers high, we are taking every precaution to keep our Patrons, volunteers and cast safe.We will resume selling concessions and allowing eating and drinking inside the theater once the seating restrictions are lifted.
6. I purchased flex passes last year but only used a few of them. What happened to them?
All flex passes from 2019 and 2020 will be rolled over to 2021 and available to be used. You can login to your account using the email you purchased them with and see the remaining passes.
7. I love live theatre and want to help keep the Palace alive. What can I do to help?
There are several ways you can help! You can make a monetary donation to the Palace here. You can also share our upcoming events via social media or email so that others know we are open and are offering events.
