The Georgetown Palace Theatre is hiring a Director of Development
The Georgetown Palace Theatre, a steadily building non-profit theater company with a large theatrical Education Program in the booming Central Texas area, is actively searching for a full-time Director of development to head our ongoing fundraising and donor relationship efforts.

The Georgetown Palace Theatre is a 501(c) nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Georgetown and Williamson County by providing a venue for quality and affordable entertainment and educational opportunities in the performing arts.
Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Artistic Director, the Director of Development should have an established background in coordinating nonprofit donation strategies. This role involves organizing large-scale fundraising initiatives, working with board members, managing our annual fund and building relationships with donors, staff and volunteers. The development director will also develop major and planned giving fundraising strategies.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Managing all strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and relations;
- Maintaining contact with and writing grant proposals for foundations, corporations, and government;
- Researching and contacting new and potential corporate, foundation, government, and individual donors;
- Being primary staff liaison for the Board Development Committee and ad hoc fundraising groups;
- Managing the stewardship, gift accounting, and reporting functions, ensuring all donors receive appropriate and timely acknowledgments of their gifts;
- Attending community events related to donor cultivation and the education of the general public;
- Planning and executing Palace fundraising events;
- Participating in outreach activities and performances outside regular business hours;
- Creating communication materials such as newsletters, an annual report, collateral material for targeted donor solicitations, e-mail blasts and any other communication that is needed to meet strategic goals, working alongside our marketing team;

Qualifications
A combination of demonstrated professional experience and development proficiency is essential for this role. A minimum of five years of fundraising experience is required for this position. Demonstrable skill in professional writing or writing supervision, storytelling, and overall communication is essential for success in this role. A successful candidate will show evidence of establishing and increasing diverse revenue streams, and building new partnerships. This is a full-time exempt position with a hybrid option (3-4 days per week in the office) and a traditional 9 to 5 work schedule that will require occasional weekend and evening hours.

Compensation and Benefits
Georgetown Palace Theatre offers a competitive compensation package, with a salary range of $68,000 to $72,000, 100% employer-paid health insurance (employee only), dental and vision coverage, 401k, and a generous PTO benefits package.
