In June 2020, the Palace returned to its roots of a movie theatre and began showing movies outdoors. Upcoming movies include: Independence Day this weekend, Wizard of Oz (July 10&11th) and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (July 17th & 18th). We setup a large movie screen and chairs in the parking lot behind the theatre after the sun goes down. It is actually very pleasant after sunset with the evening breeze. We encourage our patrons to dress up for any and all of these performances!! You can reserve your spot on our website. Admission is donations only; pay what you can to help support the Palace with a minimum donation of $5 ($10 for The Rocky Horror Picture Show). Concessions will be available for purchase. An audience prop package for Rocky Horror Picture Show will be available for $5.
Beginning in late June, we will have a fabulous lineup of live music events planned for the Springer stage starting with a Musical Revue of Swing and R&B Hits featuring Karan Chavis. We have a night of Musical Theatre, with some of your favorite Palace performers, July 17th and 18th, in the Doug Smith Performance Center. And then the hilarious play Boeing, Boeing will open on July 24th and run through August 16th on the Springer Stage.
Grease and Steel Magnolias will kick off our new season in September with Steel Magnolias premiering at the Smith Performance Center on Sept 4th and Grease beginning its run on the Springer Stage September 18th. Due to reduced capacity and social distancing measures, make sure to get your seats as soon as possible, since we know these shows will sell out quickly.
