Yoga for Actors (and everyone) with Kristina Moore
Mondays from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm, June 11 – August 27. Teens – Adults.
An all-levels Hatha Yoga class, designed to unify the body, breath, and mind through asana (postures), pranayama (breath work) and meditation. Asanas are typically the primary focus of a Western Hatha Yoga practice. Kristina is dedicated to providing a safe space for students to discover their personal needs and desires – physical, emotional, spiritual – and an opportunity for achieving them.
Open Ballet with Jesee Smart
Mondays from 5:45 – 6:45. June 11 – August 27. Teens – adults.
Students will focus on building the strength, flexibility and control needed to execute ballet moves. Each class will emphasize barre exercises and may also include a combination of center floor work and across-the-floor combinations. Open level: beginners – advanced dancers welcome!
Open Hip-Hop with Joshua Steptoe
Tuesdays from 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm, June 12 – August 28. Teens – adults.
Hip-Hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Open level: beginners – advanced dancers are welcome!
Open Jazz with Jesee Smart
Wednesdays from 5:45 – 6:45 pm, June 13 – August 29. Teens – adults.
Jazz will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer. Each class will include a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. Open level: beginners – advanced dancers welcome!
Open Tap with Jesee Smart
Thursdays from 5:45 – 6:45 pm, June 14 – August 30. Teens – adults.
Students are introduced to dance steps and combinations, rhythms, and varying percussive accents. As students master the basics, emphasis will be placed on executing these elements at a faster tempo. Stage presence and performance techniques are incorporated into dance routines. Open level: beginners – advanced dancers welcome!
