The Artistic team is looking for a cast of about 20-26 Adults, Teens, and children to help bring the timeless, magical classic to life on the Palace Springer Memorial Stage. This show will be an unforgettable experience and a lot of fun.
Auditions will be held Saturday, November 2nd, starting at 2 pm, Sunday, November 3rd, starting at 5:30 pm, and Monday, November 4th at 7 pm. Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, November 5th, starting at 6:30 pm. Rehearsals will not begin until November 11th. Performances will begin on January 31st and close March 1st. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, and Sunday at 2 pm. All Auditions, Rehearsals, and Performances will be held at the Palace Theatre.
This show will have some special effects, the characters Peter, Michael, John, Wendy, Jane, and several mermaids will actually fly. We’re bringing in Flying by Troy to do the flying installation and training.
The Children’s Chorus (anyone under the age of 12) may play Pirates, Indians, and animals, along with some of the lost boys and featured roles. Since the children’s chorus doesn’t need individual time slots, please sign up on the waitlist for an audition
In order to audition, each child must be at least 7 years of age before August 24th, and not older than 12.
The Adults (ages 13 and up) will play the Pirates, Indians, Animals, along with the featured and named roles.
Our rehearsals will be held Monday through Thursday, from 7-10 pm, and Saturdays from 1-5 pm.
The Children will audition from 2-3 pm on Saturday, 11/2 in the education building, on the playhouse stage and 5:30-6:30 pm on Sunday, 11/3 in the theater. They will be taught to sing “I won’t grow up” as a group, and then will each sing individually. This song does not have to be memorized. They will also be taught a small dance to that song that they will perform in groups. Please wear clothing you can move in (no jeans, please). Also, please wear jazz shoes, character shoes, or sneakers for the audition. We will call some of the children back on Tuesday evening to read and sing for the featured children’s roles.
For the adults, the auditions will consist of 2 parts.
1. Pick one of the musical sides provided for the role (s) that you’re interested in, as well as the ensemble side. We will provide an accompanist, however, you may also bring your own accompaniment on your device. However, please make sure there are no recorded vocals. You may NOT sing A cappella.
2. Dance: On Monday night, you will be taught a dance to be performed in small groups. If you have your vocal audition scheduled for Saturday, you’ll come for the dance audition on Monday at 7 pm, and those that have their vocal auditions scheduled for Sunday will come for the dance audition on Monday at 8:20 pm. Please wear clothing you can move in (no jeans, please). Also, please wear jazz shoes, character shoes, or sneakers for the audition.
Callbacks will be by invitation only, consist of readings from the script and more singing.
