Auditions for the Palace Performance Company (ages 13 and up) and Palace Performance Junior Company (ages 10-12) will be held Saturday, August 19, from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at the Palace Education Building (216 W. 8th St, Georgetown).

Students who participated in last year’s YPC program through it’s entirety and are up-to-date on billing can automatically join, but we ask that these students still attend the audition day for feedback and class/show placements.
Students interested in the Musical Theatre Track: please prepare a monologue (one minute, memorized) and a 32 bar cut. Please bring accompanying backing tracks or sheet music (accompanist provided).
Students interested in the Dance Track: please come ready to dance!
Students interested in the Acting Track: please prepare a one-minute, memorized monologue and come ready to play!
All students should bring a resume and headshot (if you have one – please do not spend money on headshots if not).
The Palace Performance Company is a dedicated group of young artists looking to commit to a higher level of training and performance. These students are considering studying the arts at the collegiate level or pursuing a professional career. Students will work with professional artists to hone their crafts, build their skills and confidence, and find their voices and identity as artists. Palace Performance Company members will serve as ambassadors for the Palace in and around Georgetown.

A variety of guest professional artists will be asked to teach and direct throughout the year.
The program is divided into two groups: the Senior Company (ages 13-17) and Junior Company (ages 10-12). Students, in collaboration with their families and our faculty, will then choose a track designation:
Acting Dance Musical Theatre
In addition to performing in our 2017-2018 Education Season, Palace Performance Company Members will be required to take classes within their chosen track. All company members are required to be enrolled in three classes per semester. Classes available in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, acting, improv, sketch, stage combat, and acting for the camera. Once a track is chosen, students and families will further work with our faculty to construct a specific series of classes that will both challenge and excite.

Students will work with the Program Director and Company Manager to determine a performance road-map for the year. Students will be exposed to a variety of professional level directors and creative teams.
Senior company members will be in either Drowsy Chaperone or Odd Couple in the fall and then in either Peter and the Starcatcher or 13 in the spring.
All Junior Company members will be in Bye Bye Birdie in the fall and then in either Peter and the Starcatcher or Willy Wonka Jr. in the spring.
Private Vocal Lessons:
After completion of our Group Vocal classes or determined by placement, company members can elect to study privately through a Palace instructor (for an additional fee on top of your company dues). If your student prefers to continue to work with his or her own private vocal coach, regular attendance with an outside coach satisfy the vocal requirement.
Membership in the company is $150 per month, billed monthly September – May (9 months). A non-refundable four month commitment is required in the fall and a non-refundable five month commitment is required in the spring. Company membership includes:
Registration in two education productions ($1100 value)
Reduced rates for private voice lessons through a Palace instructor
Unlimited class registration (Junior company members are required to be in two classes per semester, Senior company members are required to be in a minimum of three)
Annual assessments and evaluation from program staff
Specialty Workshops through out the year, free of charge to company members
