Spring workshops are OPEN for registration
Early Childhood - (ages 4-2nd grade)
A safe and inviting place for young children to explore the arts through music, movement, visual arts and dramatic play. We offer afternoon and weekend classes designed to introduce beginning theatre concepts as well as encourage self confidence, cognitive skills and gross motor development.
Youth/Teens - (3rd-12th grade)
A chance to begin to truly explore theatre! Work with our teaching artists to learn the basics of Musical Theatre acting, dance, or vocals. Special focus on the skills all performers must have: poise, motivation, and self-confidence. Students also strengthen skills in teamwork, problem solving and active listening. All levels of experience are welcome.
At The Palace Theater, we pride ourselves in nurturing fledgling talent as well as developing established actors. Adult workshops taught by theatre professionals are adaptable to all levels of theater experience.
Everyone wants to be in a show! Use the skills that you have acquired in acting, vocal and dance workshops to be a part of one of our all time favorite musicals. Production workshops meet for 3 hours a week for 15 weeks and end in Main Stage Palace performances for the entire community!
Production workshops include:
**Prerequisites include fundamentals classes in both acting and vocal training or enrollment in a previous Palace Summer Workshop.
Production Workshop Information (Fall 2015)
The Palace Theatre Pre-Professional Training Program consists of the Junior Theatre Troupe (grades 3rd-6th) and the Senior Theatre Troupe (grades 7th-12th), as well as the Youth Technical Program (ages 14-18). Each offers rigorous year-long training for aspiring professionals to sharpen their theatrical skills through teamwork, discipline, creative input and cooperation. Students will work with industry professionals throughout the year, preparing them to continue on into post-secondary training, or into the workplace.
Use your days off from school to learn more about Theatre. From strengthening audition skills to learning about careers, in-service days provide a full day of fun at the Palace. Extended breaks (like Spring Break) are a great time to delve into something a little more substantial, like our "Extreme Theatre"option where students audition, rehearse, and perform a full play in just one week!
Palace Summer Workshops are the best way to spend summer vacation! Students ages 7 and up join us for 2 week sessions (3-4 weeks for teens) and learn about acting, dancing, singing, monologues, and technical theatre- all while rehearsing a show!
