Palace Education Program AAA
Theatre Arts Education for Everyone
The Palace Theater holds a unique place in Central Texas. What was primarily an attempt to preserve a cherished landmark by building a non-profit community performing arts facility, has matured into a full-fledged Theatrical Community. While much of our talent still comes from Williamson County, we draw actors, dancers, directors, musicians, and technical specialists from Austin and beyond.
As we announce the expansion of The Palace Theatre's Education Program, we want to honor the "home grown" aspect of what made the Palace successful. From first time performers to theater veterans, we have learning opportunities for every age and experience level.
Come and find a place to grow and challenge yourself within the Palace Education Program

Theatre Arts Training (3rd grade-12th grade)
Special focus on the skills all performers must have: poise, motivation, and self-confidence. Students also strengthen skills in teamwork, problem solving and active listening. All levels of experience are welcome.
Production Workshops (1st grade- 12th grade)
Everyone wants to be in a show! Use the skills that you have acquired in acting, vocal and dance workshops to be a part of one of our all time favorite musicals. Production workshops meet for 3 hours a week for 15 weeks and end in Main Stage Palace performances for the entire community! Experience a full theatrical production from auditions, rehearsals, and costuming, through opening night. Prerequisites include fundamentals classes in both acting and vocal training or enrollment in a previous Palace Summer Workshop.

Sidewalk to Spotlight and Master's Workshops
The Georgetown Palace Theatre Education Program is dedicated to training youth and adults in theatre arts and to providing age appropriate performing opportunities.
Our MISSION is to foster a lifelong appreciation of Live Theatre by providing a safe environment for training and creative self-expression, while building self confidence and leadership skills through the performing arts.
The Palace Theatre began offering Summer workshops for children in 2004. 2011 was our first year to offer full scale after school programs in the fall and spring for both kids and adults in addition to Summer and Spring Break workshops. This year, we are expanding our offerings in response to your suggestions.
Thanks to a generous donation from Georgetown Seeds of Strength, the Palace Theatre is proud to announce that we will be able to offer 10 full-year need based scholarships for the 2013-2014 school year. These scholarships apply to all of our after school workshops.
These scholarships are for 100% tuition. To qualify, families must qualify for the Federal free or reduced lunch program or provide documentation of similar financial status. Students are also required to submit a statement of interest and a letter of recommendation. Scholarships will be awarded prior to the beginning of the Fall semester.
