Theatre for Young Audiences Alexander and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Auditions are Monday, September 17 by appointment from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Palace’s Education Center (216 W. 8th Street).
Actors must be available for call-backs on Tuesday, September 18 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
Please prepare a one minute memorized comedic monologue and 32 bars of a song in the style of the show (fun, up-tempo, and family friendly). An accompanist will be provided or actors may bring backing tracks.
School field trip performances: Tuesdays – Fridays at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, October 16 – November 2 at the Palace Theatre.
Public Show: Saturday, November 3 at 10:00 am at the Palace Theatre.
*No performance conflicts will be accepted
Rehearsals: Monday – Fridays, October 1 – 15 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (approximate). Saturday, October 13 may be utilized. Rehearsal conflicts will not be accepted October 11-15.
All roles are paid $200/week starting October 1 through November 3 (5 weeks). Non-union only.

Male 20s to play our hero, Alexander, age 7
Female 20s to play Ensemble Track #1 – Nick (Alexander’s 10-year-old brother), Audrey (the class pet, age 7) and Phillip Parker (athletic boy, age 7)
Female 20s to play Ensemble Track #2 – Anthony (Alexander’s 12-year-old brother), Becky (Alexander’s 7-year-old classmate. She has to deal with being thrown-up upon and assigned to singing a duet with Alex), and Albert Moyo (cool kid, age 7)
Male 20s to play Ensemble Track #3 – Paul (Alexander’s best friend, age 7), a shoe helper, and the “Office Genie” (a copy machine with a mind of its own)
Female 40s/50s to play Alex’s Mother, Mrs. Gibson (Becky’s mom, drives the carpool to school), and Mrs. Dickens (Alexander’s 1st grade teacher)
Male 40s/50s to play Alex’s Father, Dr. Fields (Alex’s dentist), and the Shoe Salesmen
Background checks: Everyone involved with the production must submit to a background check at the Palace’s expense. If you are cast, you will receive a secure link where you can fill it out. There is no cost to you.
